Occupational First Aid Skill Set (HLTSS00068)
The HLTSS00068 Occupational First Aid Skill Set is designed for people who are responsible for workplace first aid or who are preparing to undertake an occupational first aider role. Training is delivered in accordance with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines, applicable Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation, and current industry best practice.
This comprehensive skill set goes beyond standard first aid, equipping participants with the knowledge and practical skills to confidently manage workplace emergencies. Through realistic, hands-on scenarios, you'll learn to assess and manage complex incidents, provide advanced first aid, administer oxygen therapy, perform advanced resuscitation techniques, monitor and care for casualties, coordinate an effective handover to emergency services, and participate in post-incident debriefing and evaluation.
The course also develops the skills required to manage workplace first aid systems. Participants learn how to develop and maintain first aid action plans, conduct workplace first aid risk assessments, establish and maintain first aid facilities, inspect and maintain oxygen and resuscitation equipment, manage workplace first aid resources, complete required documentation, and ensure first aid equipment remains compliant and ready for use. The psychological impacts of emergency incidents are also explored, including recognising when additional support may be required for both casualties and responders.
